Listen out for the Chapel Hill Duo on BBC Radio 3 tonight at 10pm!
Busy afternoon rehearsing and recording Bastille's Pompeii, probably one of our most challenging arrangements yet! Watch out for the video on our YouTube page
Just finished playing at a wedding in the Admiral's House ORNC. It's such a wonderful feeling knowing that you're contributing to an event that people will cherish for the rest of their lives. Everyone was extremely grateful for the music we provided, and it's always nice to be thanked, but the most rewarding thing was playing a set of jigs for one of bridesmaids (aged 3). While everyone else was outside taking photos, she and her Dad stayed inside and danced to our music. The look of enjoyment on her face really made my day :)
Very excited to be playing with other Trinity musicians as part of the Greenwich Early Music Festival. First orchestral rehearsal this evening went really well! It's so refreshing to look at music from such a different perspective, i.e. the right hand not the left!
This seems to be floating around a lot of musicians at the moment. Very interesting read, contains some wonderful ideas that I intend to integrate into my own practice! Have a read, see what you think :)
Just completed a recording of some incidental music composed by Alan Hall for a BBC Radio 3 programme. Everyone was happy with the results, including a surprise filming sesh!
Watch this space for links to the recording and video!
I stumbled across this article today. Very interesting and I would definitely agree with the point this chap is making! Personally as a member of a string duo we've found it important to be as flexible as possible in order to accommodate the public's tastes (unfortunately "classical" music isn't as popular as it once was!) It's time to chart the unknown!
A wonderful learning experience playing Rach Symphonic Dances in the Trinity side-by-side Symphony Orchestra this evening! Thoroughly enjoyable! Now for a restful family weekend in Lincolnshire. Have a good one everyone! :)
This morning we are hard at work rehearsing and recording Rihanna's "Only Girl in the World", arranged by yours truly :) to watch please visit our youtube channel: http://www.youtube.com/TheChapelHillDuo
Please follow my friends blog on her life changing trip to Karamoja, Uganda. Not exactly music related, but so inspirational, definitely worth a read!
